[Telepathic/Voice Only] (Backdated to the day after the fallen pods incident)

[He gave her a day to recover. No sense in trying to push his luck before then, he figured. Sure, he didn't have to check in on her or anything, but...he wanted to. He knows Edna is a tough little seraph, all things considered, but the sight and sound of her crying like that...]
[It had rattled him some, even though he'd managed to keep it from showing.]
[So he calls to her via his amulet, not wanting to approach her physically in case that might be too much of an intrusion.]
...Edna?

...Edna?
[There's a second's worth of hesitation while he considers her crankier than usual tone, then presses onward, regardless.]
Just checking up on you, since you were asleep when I brought you in.

Obviously.
[Just really grouchy. But he can't blame her.]
I had my doubts. Wouldn't have removed you from the plaza, otherwise.

[There's a mental shrug as he brushes off the thanks.]
Probably about as much as what happened at the end of the Flower Festival.
[Because that had left him in a bad way, too. He knows your pain in a way, Edna, and in this case he's willing to admit it so that you don't feel so alone in it.]
I'm going to do some cooking in a bit. Do you want anything?

Alright.
[He'll just keep Edna's likes and dislikes in mind when he's making up food later.]
It...seems to. Unfortunately. Months ago, I arrived in Verens just in time for something called the Night of Selenium. Better you weren't here for that.

Happiness is a fleeting, fragile emotion, anyway. I find it hard to trust, anymore.
[That's...wow. Godsdamn. Even Dezel knew happiness at one point in his life, when he ran with the Windriders and Lafarga was still alive.]
Not even while Eizen lived as a seraph?
[He knows from talking to Edna that he wasn't around a whole lot, but still...]

[Hearing this from Edna... It hits hard. Harder than Dezel wants to admit. Yet he doesn't dare pity her. He knows she'll take it badly and he couldn't blame her for that, either. He wouldn't want anything of the sort in her shoes.]
[Yet he can't say nothing to it, either. He has to admit that he gives enough of a damn to make some sort of effort.]
I...understand the feeling. It's not something you deserve.

True... But don't make me remind you of what you told me, before.
[Action] (backdated to shortly after that disaster of a blind date)

[Okay, so it hadn't been a date-date. But even though that had been the way that both of them had wanted it, Emil still couldn't help but feel that he hadn't been the best of company even in a purely platonic sense; given that he has a guilt complex the size of a small continent, that translated into him being convinced that he'd somehow ruined the entire thing.
Fortunately, if there's one thing that he's good at, it's apologizing. Combined with his other talent for cooking, the end result is him carrying a basket of something that smells very delicious over to the house and then... hesitating for a long moment before he knocks on the door. A very long moment. Come on, Emil, it's not that hard.
By the time he finally manages to tap on the door, he probably looks like he's on the run from something huge that wants to eat him.]

[... oh no. A part of him had been hoping that someone else would answer the door so that he could just leave the cookies and run and continue his streak of being an absolute failure at everything without having to actually apologize in person. But now that he's face-to-face with Edna, his expression is not unlike that of a deer caught in the headlights, and suddenly everything he'd been planning to say has vacated his brain. Whoops.]
I, um... I thought... after the other day...
[Finally he gives up on trying to explain himself via words and just holds out the basket, face red and eyes focused on the ground.]
... these are for you.

[Because that entire house is a weirdo magnet, apparently. I mean, look at Dezel's friends.
When she says that, his eyes immediately snap back up and he waves his hands frantically in an attempt to defuse the situation.]
N-no, I didn't mean it like that! I just... I felt bad for being such bad company the other day, that's all. I know I probably wasn't very much fun to spend time with, so I thought...
[... he really isn't making this any better.]

I'm sorry!
[...]
... I mean, right. I'll try my best.
[It's just a hard habit to break, even after being in Verens for as long as he has.]
I just don't want people to be angry with me.
